Christopher Marz, Executive Chef
“My fundamental cooking philosophy is that the key to any great dish lies in the freshness and integrity of the products used,” says Chris from his office at the Delta Ottawa City Centre. Training in Germany and Ireland, where local, seasonal products are the norm has inspired the signature style that is reflected in his menus. Increasingly Chris is including local produce into his menus
Chris considers himself to be “an outgoing chef who puts people first,” so he regularly engages with diners and welcomes their comments. Chris has been Executive Chef at the hotel since 2006.
The Lift Restaurant, at Delta City Centre offers a casual, yet upscale dining experience featuring unique recipes prepared from fresh, local ingredients, presented in a colourful, creative manner. The multicultural lunch buffet showcases flavours from around the world in themes that change daily.
The hotel also welcomes conventions and other special events that are catered to the specifications of the organizers and enhanced with the creativity of Chef Christopher Marz. Chris notes that for these events and for the daily dining room menus there are increasing opportunities for utilizing the products of local farmers.
