At Zen Kitchen we believe in food that nourishes the body, mind, spirit and planet, and that a gourmet meal can be created from healthy, environmentally-friendly foods.” Caroline has developed the skills to enable this practice through experience, extensive travel and formal training at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York. She launched her business, ZenKitchen, in 2007.
Since opening the restaurant in July, 2009, ZenKitchen has quickly garnered rave reviews from media and diners, winning both the Best New Restaurant Award from the Ontario Restaurant, Hotel and Motel Association (ORHMA); and the Wines of Ontario Gold Award of Excellence for their wine list.
Chef Caroline makes a point of visiting the dining room often, speaking with diners about the food, ingredients, and the farms they come from. Caroline and her partner Dave Loan were the focus of a national television series, The Restaurant Adventures of Caroline and Dave, which aired on the W Network.
