"We're always in the red," jokes Lyle Slater. Indeed, while harvesting his crop he is truly in a sea of floating red cranberries. Upper Canada Cranberries is the only cranberry bog in Eastern Ontario, and being within city limits makes it one-of-a- kind in the world. Starting with 100 acres of virgin bush in 1996, Lyle is now harvesting 90,000 pounds of cranberries from fifteen acres of bog.
