“We are proud of our breeding program which focuses on quality, quiet and easy-keeping cattle; attributes that we believe are reflected in the high caliber of the meat products,” declares Rick when he speaks of the pure-bred Polled Hereford herd that RGK has been developing since 2002. Kate successfully shows RGK stock in open, 4H and Junior Hereford competitions and the family also actively promotes the Polled Hereford breed through membership in the Ottawa Valley Hereford Club.

The Cummings family is proudly committed to the belief that family farms ensure not only a sustainable local food supply, but also preserve the agricultural land that provides environmentally crucial carbon sinks.
