Idamarie Vaillancourt & Gary A. MacDonell

At Pork of Yore farm, the free range, heritage breed pigs rotate through the pastures, rooting, grazing and soaking up sunshine; thriving and at the same time refreshing the land. Knowing that flavourful succulent pork is produced by happy, healthy pigs, the Tamworth, Berkshire and Large Black pigs at Pork of Yore farm are fed nutritious hay and a homemade supplement mixture of wheat, barley, corn and soy. They do not endure having their teeth or tails clipped, the sows are allowed to furrow naturally and shelters with an abundance of straw protect them from the elements. Idamarie, always respectful of their needs, refers to the pigs as “our reproductive team partners”.
