Michael Blackie, Executive Chef

Born in Leicestershire England and raised in Montreal, Michael Blackie served at many international hotels and exclusive resorts prior to taking up his post at the National Arts Centre. “I love using unique local produce, then kicking it up a notch with global flavours from my experience abroad,” explains Michael, and this “expression of contemporary Canadian cuisine” is his culinary mission at the NAC. Chef Blackie represented Ottawa in the 2007 Canadian Culinary Championships.
Whether the venue is the canal-side Le Café restaurant or a catered event in one of the unique banquet rooms or Rooftop Terrace, the emphasis is on “exquisite food & impeccable service at competitive prices.”
