Mariposa Farm

“Mariposa ducks and geese have a distinctive and unique taste because the tenderness and flavour are directly related to how the birds are raised,” comments Ian when discussing the Barberie ducks and Embden geese that have been Mariposa's signature product since 1980.

Today, Mariposa pork and heritage vegetables match that same high standard. Suzanne and Ian are active in the marketing and distribution of many other local products and manage a unique on-site dining room facility and gourmet food shop.

Ian and Suzanne are both Agriculture College graduates and have served on the faculty as instructors and researchers. Firmly believing that supporting a sustainable farm economy is critical to today's rural development, they are members of the National Farmers Union, through which farm families sharing common goals are able to work together to benefit their farms and communities.
