La Gantoise

Marie and Charles Goubau

Marie Goubau has a long family history in retail meat sales and Charles is an agrologist. They immigrated to Canada from Belgium and since 1983 have been raising Belgian Blue Cattle –  a leaner beef breed which originated in their homeland. “From our pasture to your plate,” is the signature motto on beef products from La Gantoise and the Goubaus are proud of the system that enables them to record the entire life history of each animal and to identify its products, thus optimizing the safety of the meat that reaches the consumer's plate.

An on-site butcher at the farm store enables the Goubaus to proudly declare, “At La Gantoise the food chain has only 2 links, the consumer and the producer.”
