For forty years my most exciting activity was following the cows up the lane, so to discover that I have a hidden talent for creating country wines was a welcome surprise,” says Gene. Countryman’s Estate Winery was launched by Gene, Marsha and son Eli in June 2006 and became the first fruit winery in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. The family continues to market garden vegetables along with homemade jams, jellies, pickles and fruit pies.
